5 Billion Dead are honored to have been a part of our friend Bob Pickerelli‘s life (bassist Old Fashioned Beatdown) and were honored to have participated in Pickerelli Fest held Saturday, June 30th at Revival Nightclub. We would like to extend our condolences to Bob’s Mother and Sister who were in attendance and we hope the money raised will help during their time of need, we are happy we wer able to gift them with a backrest pillow with arms. 5BD would also like to thank all who were involved in the coordination and organization of the Fest including all of the amazing bands who graciously donated their time and energy including Meka Nism, Severed Sun and Under the River. All-in-all an incredible evening full of love for our fallen brother Bob. Thank you to all who were a part of this amazing event!
Greetings from the Dead…
First, we’d like to thank all of our fans for continuing to ask about the progress of the band, we really love your support! The good news is that we have NOT broken up (as rumor may have it) and are still diligently pursuing the inevitable release of our first full length album.
At this point it feels as if we may break Guns & Roses record for the longest recording process in recorded human history. We may have to title this album “North Korean Democracy”.
The good news is that we are somewhere in the “mixing” phase of this release, which means we are getting closer and closer to having a product worthy of the 10-year wait. Without much of a budget, we’ve taken on the recording and mixing process ourselves, however, we’ve had some great support from notable producers who have offered their expertise and services just because they’re cool like that. Thank you!
Our hope is to begin playing shows again once we have the record complete, so keep your eyes peeled for info regarding our inevitable CD release show. Once we have a CD to offer, we hope to canvas the entire SouthEast and beyond with live performances.
Thanks again to all of our friends, family and fans for their patience, we hope to release something in the near future.
